How Much Do Vapes Cost

Vaping is a popular alternative to smoking. It’s also much safer for your health and the environment. But some consider vaping to be expensive, costing as much as $100 per vape pen cartridge.

For this reason, vaping sometimes isn’t seen as an “affordable” alternative to those trying to quit cigarettes or tobacco products.

However, in the long-run vaping can minimize your expenses compared to cigarettes.

What To Expect To Pay For a Vaporizer?

When starting off with vaping one must remember that this is an investment in your health so even though some devices are expensive they will pay for themselves over time when compared with traditional cigarette use.

As vaping is a fairly new industry, the cost of vaping varies by brand. First-time users may find that vaping costs more than smoking cigarettes or tobacco products as vaping pens can range from $30 to $100 depending on where you shop and what device you need.

However, there are many vape pen starter kits available for under $60. If you want to invest in more advanced tech, expect to spend anything from $100 to several thousand dollars.

Beginner

If you don’t want to invest too much money right away but still try vaping out before committing to it long term consider buying just cartridge refills which usually run around $20.

Another option for beginners is to start with disposable vapes, which are usually less expensive and offer an easy way to experiment with vaping before investing in a more permanent vape kit.

If vaping is new to you, save up some money before making the investment in a high-end vape. It might take some time to get used to vaping and determine if it’s an option that will work for you long term. You can buy cheaper vapes with fewer options.

The majority of first-time vapers choose simple devices that cost between $5 and $50.

However, these devices might have issues like juice spills and limited battery life. Vapes from lower-priced brands are also limited in the types of liquids they can use.

Advanced

If you already know vaping is the right choice for you, consider buying a higher-end device from an established brand. They come in all shapes and sizes with different features that will suit different vaping needs.

An average vape costs between $100 and $200 but expect to pay more if it comes with extras like a case or changeable tanks.

Higher-priced vapes are also usually equipped with other innovative features like bigger coils, greater batteries, power meters and adjustable airflow. You may also upgrade and change these vapes as you see fit.

How Much Do Liquids Cost?

The vaping liquid or vape juice is the part that gets vaporized when you vape, which turns into water vapor instead of smoke like traditional cigarettes do. It consists of propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerin (VG), nicotine if desired, and different flavors.

While vaping liquids cost more than a pack of traditional cigarettes at around $20 per liquid, depending on how much you vape, they are still cheaper than buying packs of smokes every single day.

The vaping liquid prices vary depending on the flavor, strength and brand that you choose. There are thousands of flavors available online and in vape shops. They also come in different strengths ranging from 0mg to 24mg with an option for custom mixes if necessary.

With vaping, there are two options – prefilled vapes or refillable vapes, where you buy juice in bottles and easily refill them yourself once they are empty.

A single pre-filled vape typically has 1ml of juice. This should be enough for two and three days of regular vaping. The cost of juice is between $5 and $10, which isn’t very cost-effective.

A refillable vape allows you to purchase juice by the bottle. A 10ml – 100ml vape juice bottle will set you back between $10 and $30, but it will last for months and you can simply refill your tank yourself and mix and match different flavors and strengths.

Is Vaping More Expensive Than Smoking?

In the end, what matters most when considering the price is how much you smoke. The more you vape, the less cost effective it will be on your pocket.

But if you vape like a light smoker or once in a while – vaping can be considered cheaper than smoking. Only the initial purchase of a vaporizer is a bigger investment.

That said, you can save money in the long-run by getting a refillable pan and mixing and refilling your own liquids.

However, the best case scenario with vaping is that it leads to less smoking or even allows you to quit smoking. Which in the end is priceless!
